My windows won stay up
Now, the question is: should you simply repair your window or replace it altogether? While there are temporary fixes you can consider to resolve the problem in the short term, this is probably a sign that your windows are becoming worn and are in need of replacing. In the meantime, consider replacing the pivot bar, which connects the balance to the sash of the window itself.
If there is no obvious damage to the pivot bars, then the shoes or balances of the window frame may need to be replaced. Tried removing and reinstalling but no change. As of now the photo app is useless. I got as far as settings but no option for Troubleshoot computer problem or Windows apps troubleshooter My photo app will not open at all. I'm having the same problem with Photos.
I also don't find an option for Troubleshoot computer problem or Windows apps troubleshooter under Settings. In reply to ASMarquis's post on August 16, Same problem, no help from Microsoft. Windows 10 is not quite ready for prime time. I have the same problem of Apps windows closing in about two seconds. For the app store, you can access it on the internet until this bug is fixed, since clicking the icons don't get you there. Hugh JMartin. How about it Microsoft, can you get us a fix for this problem?
In reply to Hugh JMartin's post on August 19, Hello Hugh, Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft community. I appreciate you for providing details about the issue. This issue may occur due to corrupt or missing Windows files. I hope this information helps. Hold the sash horizontal to the floor.
Insert the metal bar on the left side of the sash into the left side balance shoe. Lift the right side of the sash until you can insert the metal bar on the bottom of the sash into the right casing. Lower the right side of the sash until you can engage the metal bar in the balance shoe. Leave the sash in the horizontal position. Raise or lower either side of the sash until the sash appears level.
Push the top of the sash back into the window casing. Make any adjustments necessary to the right or left sides until you can snap the sash back into the casing, automatically engaging the tilt latches. This means that the pivot bars have nothing to connect with when you open the window. A shoe may be plastic or metal. It will have a U-shaped slot in it. When the shoe is locked, the U faces upward.
Slid the shoe up to the proper location. Lock the shoe in place by turning the slot back to a locked position. Return the sash to the jamb and test its performance.
